CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s lacrosse player Bobby Gavin was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference for games played through February 14.

After allowing four goals on the first four shots he saw on goals, Gavin saved 13 of the Black Knights next 18 shots on goal to aid the Cavalier defense. Gavin also saved seven of nine shots on goal by Army’s All-American attackman Brendan Nichtern. He also picked up six ground balls and caused two turnovers in the winning cause.
